What is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth Whitening refers to restoring a tooth’s surface colour by removing dirt and debris.

What Causes Teeth to Stain?

Tooth-enamel discolouration is caused by a variety of things. They include aging, superficial stains from drinking coffee, dark sodas and wine, smoking, or from taking medications such as tetracycline and genetic trait. Age – teeth darken over time as a result of wear, tear and stain accumulation.

How Long Will Results Last?

Results usually last 3-6 months depending on teeth structure,hygiene and oral habits.

How Many Sessions are Required?

Usually only one appointment is needed. This appointment is 60 minutes of light therapy broken up into 3 x 15 minute sessions. In some cases another appointment is needed due to heavy staining, this will be discussed at your appointment.Results are immediate.

How Much Of a Difference Will You See?

You will generally see 2-12 shades brighter. We do not guarantee results as we cannot predict how white the teeth will get. Before and after photos will help you match the shade difference.

Pre-Treatment

For the first hour, drink only water.
Avoid any food or drinks that can cause staining for at least 24 hours after treatment.
If you consume anything staining after that time, make sure you brush your teeth right away.

Aftercare

Teeth will continue to brighten for 24 hours after treatment
Client should avoid coffee, tea, red wine, cherries, blueberries or anything that will stain a white t-shirt

They can brush regularly the next day
Rinsing after meals and drinking is recommend for the first 24 hours
You can eat and drink right after treatment
If the client is sensitive you can use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth (Sensodyne or Pronamal)

Do not use mouth wash for 24 hours, it will effect the colour of the teeth
The teeth with natural marks will be enhanced for the first 24 hours then it will settle down
