What is a clearing extraction facial?
Our clearing extraction facial is a must if you are experiencing breakouts, have acneic skin, or are in need of a good clearing, deep cleansing and extraction of your skin.
What to expect for your treatment
You will be nestled into an aesthetic bed and covered with a light blanket, with the glow of a salt lamp lighting the room and relaxing music softly playing in the background.
Your skin care specialist will begin by doing a deep cleansing and exfoliation to remove the dead skin cells that may be blocking your pores. You will then enjoy a relaxing steaming of the skin to open the pores and detoxify your skin, and extractions of your clogged or compromised pores will be done. A pass will be performed with a high-frequency facial machine that promotes clearing of the skin. A clearing serum will be applied to the skin, and then your facial will conclude with a relaxing face massage and you will be walking out of the spa with fresh, clean, glowing skin and your soul will be completely rejuvenated
What is High Frequency?
High Frequency is a skincare technique that is used to treat active acne, acne prone skin, and enlarged pores. High Frequency produces a purifying gas with antibacterial properties which supports in healing acne and reducing congestion. High Frequency is proven to be effective and safe on the skin, quickly healing and restoring the skin’s health and leaving the skin feeling instantly refreshed after just one treatment. The benefits of high frequency include: safely kills acne-causing bacteria; stimulates circulation; oxygenates the skin; minimizes inflammation and redness; reduces acne and prevents future breakouts; shrinks enlarged pores.
Am I a good candidate?
If you suffer from acneic skin, then yes! The ways in which you NOT a good candidate are if your skin is extremely dry or you have been using AHA products or products containing a high concentration of salicylic, glycolic acids, or vitamin A serum (RetinA); if you are pregnant; have a pacemaker; have broken capillaries, spider veins or rosacea on the face; have metal in the face or body, including piercings and jewelry; or if you have open lesions.
How to prepare (pre-treatment)
No preparation required except removal of any make-up and piercings before you come to your appointment.
What does it feel like?
When the high frequency wand is placed on the skin, the sensations you will experience are warmth and a tingly sensation. There is no discomfort with this procedure. It is quite relaxing.
What to expect afterwards and aftercare
After your treatment, you may experience slight pinkness that will subside within an hour (approximately). High frequency facial is a safe and gentle treatment with no downtime. Avoid the sun, and wear a minimum SPF 30 or higher, if you will be out in the sun. Also, avoid hot tubs and saunas and anything that will create your skin to be heated or sweating; avoid using AHAs and BHAs, glycolic and salicylic acids, and keep your hands out of your face to avoid adding in any bacteria to the skin.
How many sessions are required?
Increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight is normal. Rare side effects can include skin swelling, skin redness, bruising, or a burning or stinging sensation.
