Clay AFA Peel

What is the Clay AFA Peel?

The Clay AFA Peel for the face and body has been shown to be one of the most efficacious treatments addressing coarse uneven texture, pigment irregularities, acne, general signs of aging, dullness, and moisture barrier functions.
Made for clients with normal, oily or combination skin, the clay mask is applied to the skin to gently exfoliate and draw out oils and impurities.
Bentonite clay draws impurities from deep within, improving clarity and minimizing the visibility of pores
Removes surface debris to better prepare skin for receiving Step 2
Perfect for treating pigmentation, acne and concerns from photodamage on neck, décolletage and body
Clay Peel is a clinically effective treatment which can play a powerful role in many combination therapy protocols. Examples: IPL

What to expect?

After the two-step process finishes, you can expect some mild redness for a few hours. You may experience a warm, tingling or a burning sensation during the application. You can take an ibuprofen pre-treatment to relieve any discomfort. After that you should see improvement in your skin’s texture and it will be smooth and glowing! Your skin may appear white and “frosted” in areas. This will subside within the first few hours. During the next few days, your skin may feel tight and experience mild flaking, especially if your skin is on the sensitive side. It is common to experience a light exfoliation rather than peeling.

How to Prepare (pre-treatment):

Do not use active cosmeceutical agents such as Retin-A, AHA, BHA, glycolics, tretinoin, etc. for the first 24 hours prior to treatment. Do not use prescription Tretinoin or similar products within 72 hours before treatment. Avoid waxing, hair removal creams or treatments within 72 hours of treatment and avoid shaving for at least 12 hours before. Patients should wait to have an AFA treatment at least 1 week after receiving neurotoxin or dermal filler injections.

What to Expect (post-treatment):

Do not cleanse your skin the evening of your peel. Do not pick or pull any flaking skin. Avoid waxing, hair removal creams or treatments within 72 hours and avoid shaving for at least 12 hours prior. Do not use active cosmeceutical agents such as Retin-A, AHA, BHA, glycolics, tretinoin, etc. for the first 24 hours after treatment or up to 72 hours if the skin is experiencing slight redness. Apply chemical-free sunscreen everyday for 2 weeks and keep the skin moisturized. Avoid makeup for 24 hours.

How Many Sessions?

A course of 3-6 Clay AFA Peel treatments are recommended at 2-4 weeks apart for optimal results.
